Don't Lose Your Head
Karvelis remembered – his mom used to say – you can be interested in whatever you want, just don’t lose your head. That was when he was a child. Now, after many years, it seems he didn’t listen to her advice. He lost his head, and it’s awkward to say why. His body is lying in bed, and the head is nowhere to be found. The head has eyes and knows where it is. The head also has a voice and can say where it is. But his body has no ears and cannot know what the head says. The head has no legs and cannot return, but the body has legs and arms and can move. Though only blindly, since it has no eyes.
Karvelis got out of bed, lay down, and began to grope under the bed with his hands. His hand touched some hair, and his heart started to beat faster. What joy, the head was found! It hadn’t rolled too far…
Karvelis woke up and inspected his body by touching it all around – the head was in its place. But just to be sure, he went to the mirror to check. Thanks goodness - the head was his.
